Bob Baron explains evolution of Baron Weather
When you watch TV meteorologists, do you ever wonder the source of the technology they are using? Well, several area stations rely on a Huntsville, AL company that was founded by a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Bob Baron was a classmate of mine who worked his way through college as a disc jockey at a WKGN-AM, a Top 40 radio station in Knoxville. Later, he became a meteorologist in Huntsville and was working the day 23 people lost their lives when an unexpected tornado blew through the community.
Two months later, Baron founded Baron Weather Services, now known simply as Baron Weather. The company serves multiple industry sectors with weather data, weather radar systems, display software, and forecasting services.
