Birmingham eyes becoming a medical device hotbed
Birmingham, AL has its eyes of possibly becoming a medical device hotbed and is planning a “MedTech Symposium” at the end of the month to explore the idea. Craig Buerstatte, Acting Director for the U.S. Commerce Department’s Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, will keynote the event. Other speakers include Tiffany Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of the Global Center for Medical Innovation in Atlanta; Alabama Commerce Secretary Greg Canfield; and Chris West, President of the Memphis-based ZeroTo510 Accelerator.
