“Big Idea” moves to next phase, selects nine teams

Nine teams have one month to prepare for the “Knock Out Competition” in this year’s “What’s the Big Idea?!” business plan competition set for June 3.

The nine teams were selected by a team of coaches that will work with them between now and the early June event. A total of 14 contestants gave five-minute pitches each before the final nine were selected by Parker Frost, founder of Gigmark Interactive; John Tolsma, owner of Knowledge Launch; and Jimmy Rodefer, Chief Executive Officer of Rodefer Moss & Company, PLLC. Each judge chose three contestants for his team.

They are:

Team Tolsma

  • Billy Lush Brand
  • Neural Energy Games
  • TaTa Coolerz

Team Rodefer

  • Dwelln
  • Pipefighters Square
  • PTlink

Team Frost

  • Greenlight – Frustration Free Email Newsletters
  • Survature
  • TeVal

The three coaches, who are all past recipients of the Knoxville Chamber’s Pinnacle Young Entrepreneur Award, will have one month to mentor their team members before the contestants face-off on June 3.
