Battelle recognizes Ron Townsend with its “CEO Award”
Ron Townsend, former President of Oak Ridge Associated Universities and the current Executive Vice President for Laboratory Operations at Battelle, was presented the “CEO Award” during the Columbus, OH-based organization’s annual “Celebration of Solvers” event.
Battelle, which co-manages Oak Ridge National Laboratory with the University of Tennessee, recognized Townsend for his 10-year role in leading Battelle’s business of managing national laboratories for the U.S. Department of Energy and Department of Homeland Security. He capped off 2018 by leading Battelle’s successful win of the largest national lab contract award in its organization’s history—Los Alamos National Lab.
