Austin and Seattle take top spots in this ranking of best cities for entrepreneurs

The Zebra, an insurance comparison site,  pulled four data points to analyze and rank the top 50 Metropolitan Statistical Areas for entrepreneurship. The top 50 were selected based on population, and the criteria that were evaluated were:

  • Venture capital funding as compiled nearly a year ago by Ed Egan and published in The Economics of Growth;
  • U.S. Small Business Administration 7(a) loan funding as reported in 2020 by Congressional District;
  • State income tax rates compiled by The Tax Foundation; and
  • Corporate income tax rate, also compiled by the The Tax Foundation.

So, what city topped the list? Austin followed by Seattle with three cities tied for third place – Columbus, Houston, and Tampa. Atlanta placed #10. Here’s a link to the findings!
