ARC extends deadline for POWER grant applications to April 24

For those contemplating submitting applications for a POWER grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), you have some breathing room.

The acronym POWER stands for “Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization,” an effort designed to offset job losses from the decline of the coal industry in many parts of the 13-state ARC region. Deadline for the latest round of applications had been set for March 27. “We have extended the deadline for POWER applications to April 24, 5 pm ET,” ARC announced last week.
