Application deadline looming for “What’s the Big Idea? Pitch Competition”
Six teams will be selected to refine their pitches before the finale on March 2.
The Knoxville Entrepreneur Center (KEC) reminds area start-ups that applications close at 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday, February 3, for the “What’s the Big Idea? Pitch Competition.” Six teams will advance to the finals over a weekend that begins on February 28.
The annual event brings together entrepreneurs of all backgrounds to participate in an intensive 48-hour weekend of prototyping, incubation, and launching. A week after the deadline, KEC opens the doors for the public to vote for their favorites. The finalists will be announced on February 19, and the competition runs from February 28 to March 2 with the finale that evening at Scruffy City Hall on Market Square.
The competition is open to start-ups located in Anderson, Blount, Jefferson, Knox, Grainger, Loudon, Roane, Sevier, and Union Counties. Applicants need to be at least 18 years old and have a concept or a new enterprise in the seed-capital, start-up, or pre-revenue stage.
