Application deadline for “Boyd Venture Challenge” is April 5

University of Tennessee, Knoxville students entrepreneurs have until 11:59 p.m. EDT on April 5 to apply for the “Boyd Venture Challenge” where they could secure up to $30,000 in seed capital for their business.

As described here, student-owned businesses must have a federal tax ID (FEIN or TIN) and be majority owned by the student. Businesses can be a corporation, LLC or partnership, but those in the latter category will be required to form a legal entity before any award payment is made. Options include an LLC or “S” corporation.

Those selected to compete will be notified on April 14, and the competition is set for April 23. Application criteria are outlined in the link above.
