Another Walton family member launches venture focused on four important areas
Lukas Walton, a grandson of Walmart Inc. Founder Sam Walton, and his wife, Samantha Baiz Walton, went “live” last month with a website for Builders Vision LLC of which he is Chief Executive Officer.
Why is that important for entrepreneurs? The couple are billionaires, and their new venture is focused on four areas in which it seeks to make a positive impact: food and agriculture, healthy oceans, community, and climate and energy. The company injects capital into businesses taking on social and environmental challenges, and supports nonprofits looking to make long-term positive change in these areas.
An article from Inside Philanthropy provides additional insights, saying the couple has “launched public websites for what is essentially a family office, Builders Vision, and its three branches—Builders Private Capital, a venture-style investment team that has committed to investing $300 million in companies working to clean up the planet; Builders Asset Management, which invests the foundation endowment and other funds; and Builders Initiative, the philanthropic arm that includes, but is not limited to a foundation.”
