AMS awarded 21st patent in company’s history

Analysis and Measurement Services Corporation (AMS), a global leader in testing the instrumentation and control systems of nuclear power plants worldwide, has been awarded the 21st patent that the company has received over its life.

The latest one – U.S. Patent No. 11,031,143 – is titled “Systems and Methods of Monitoring Control Rods of Nuclear Power Plants” and is described as a technology that is critical to safe and efficient operation of nuclear power plants. Founded in Knoxville in 1977, AMS was awarded its first patent in 1981.

“These patents have been for new technology to verify the performance of reactor control and safety systems,” said H.M. (Hash) Hashemian, AMS President and Chief Executive Officer. The most recent patent names three AMS engineers as co‑authors: Hashemian, Chief Technology Officer Greg Morton, and Senior Engineering Manager Brent Shumaker.
