Chapel offers a bit of everything, starting with co-working

There’s a little bit of everything in this new 40,000 square foot development in Greenville, SC. The $10 million development named Chapel is being billed as a “community hangout” that combines co-working space, a food hall, a barber shop, commercial kitchen, three restaurants, and a bar.

As described in this article from the Upstate Business Journal, there are two unique aspects of the building that is expected to open in late 2022 or early 2023.

  • The kitchen space will allow restaurant entrepreneurs with limited capital to start new concepts, serving food through a takeout window, while also functioning as a “ghost kitchen” space to serve food directly to consumers via delivery apps.
  • The concept is offering equity to tenants — from the restaurant operators down to the co-working members — much in the same way tech start-ups offer equity to early employees.
