Tennessee ranks #11 on WalletHub’s ranking of economic performance and strength by states
Another recent ranking from WalletHub, the personal finance website, compared the 50 states and District of Columbia across 28 key indicators of economic performance and strength. The data set ranges from Gross Domestic Product growth to start-up activity to the share of jobs in high-tech industries.
The good news for Tennessee is that it is ranked #11 nationally and in the top three among neighboring states. Only North Carolina (#7) and Georgia (#8) rank higher among either Atlantic Coast or Southeastern states. On the less than positive front, the Volunteer State ranks #38 on innovation potential. That compares with North Carolina (#11), Virginia (#22), Georgia (#24), Florida (#33), Alabama (#35), and just ahead of South Carolina (#39).
