Here’s a weekend STEM opportunity for youth this Saturday in Knoxville
Tuskegee NEXT will host its annual “Aviation Day” event this Saturday at Knoxville’s Downtown Island Airport. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., young people between the ages of 8 and 17 can fly with the Tuskegee NEXT Ambassador Committee, a group of program alumni, and experience interactive science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) “Aviation Stations” related to flight.
Tuskegee NEXT is a nonprofit founded by Steve Davis, a Knoxville native and former Tennessee football player, who also is president of GEM Community Development Group, the organization managing private development around the downtown stadium project. The group helps at-risk youth explore aviation careers, access education and build life skills.
To attend the event, youth must register in advance at this link.
