FoundersForge partnering with ETSU on upcoming “Start-up Intern Fair”

FoundersForge is partnering with East Tennessee State University (ETSU) to host the “ETSU Start-up Intern Fair” from 6 to 8 p.m. April 7. The event is designed to benefit both entrepreneurs who are seeking talent and ETSU students who are seeking paid or unpaid opportunities.

The FoundersForge and ETSU event provides an opportunity for students to hear from start-ups about potential careers in Johnson City, network with prospective employers, and submit resumes to local businesses. Participating students will be looking for internships for the upcoming summer in areas such as marketing, software development, accounting and finance, and video production.

In a news release, FoundersForge described the opportunities as follows:

  • Students Gain Experience: Building practical work experience can be more valuable to employers than educational credentials. Working with a start-up can help students pursue work that really matters, obtain real life experience, explore fields of interest, and open doors to future opportunities.
  • Start-ups Gain Momentum: Large job fairs are often a challenge for smaller companies looking to hire great talent – competing against larger big-name businesses means that they sometimes miss out on the best candidates. But with the “ETSU Start-up Internship Fair,” underdog entrepreneurs can share their mission with local students to find passionate candidates with high potential and build their capacity to do more.

Application deadline is March 31. More details and a link to the two applications can be found here.
