Automotive News bringing its “World Congress” to Nashville in May

It’s an all-new approach to the “Automotive News World Congress” for 2022.

The annual event was traditionally held in January in cold and usually snowy Detroit in conjunction with the “North American International Auto Show.” I know; I was there for several back in the 1990s in career #1. During that period, the University of Tennessee also worked with Crain Communications and Automotive News to host several “New American Automotive Manufacturing Conferences” in Nashville.

After probably two decades of nothing similar in Music City, Automotive News has announced that this year’s “World Congress” will be held in four cities, and Nashville gets the honors to start the series on May 18. The focus – appropriately enough – will be on electric vehicles and batteries. Keynoter for the event will be Mark Reuss, President of General Motors.

The five-hour event, starting at 11 a.m. CDT, includes lunch and a panel of suppliers. More information can be found here.
