Sky City Entrepreneur Center announces new partnership, standing monthly events

Several announcements came earlier this week from the Sky City Entrepreneur Center located in Maryville.

  • Noting that every business owner encounters projects outside their wheelhouse from time to time, the organization has forged a partnership with Maryville College. It is called the “Sky City Microinternships Program” and will connect entrepreneurs with Maryville College interns to complete a six-week project in their major field of study. Stephanie Collins, Intership and Equity Coordinator in the College’s Career Center, will discuss the “ins and outs” of the program when Sky City hosts its inaugural “Sky City Lunch & Learn” at noon Tuesday, January 11. Individuals should bring their own lunch and also indicate their plans to attend on the Sky City Facebook page (click here).
  • Women in Entrepreneurship Blount County (WIE-BC) has joined Sky City with plans to bring excellent programs and a supportive network to women in business for themselves. The group meets from 9 to 10 a.m. every fourth Tuesday in the large meeting room at Sky City. The first meeting of 2022 will be held January 20.
  • Finally, if networking is your thing, the organization announced that its “Side Hustle Happy Hour” will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. every third Thursday at Tri-Hop Brewery in Downtown Maryville.
