Venture 53 focused on logistics and supply chain innovation

A venture capital fund that launched during the COVID-19 pandemic and is focused on making the logistics industry more efficient is in the process of raising its third fund.

Venture 53 is dual-headquartered in Atlanta and Richmond, VA., the hometowns of the two Co-Founders. Its first fund was $3 million, and its second was $10 million. The latest effort is targeting a $30 million raise.

Venture 53 has made three investments so far — Emerge, a digital freight marketplace; Edray, a port logistics management platform; and MyCarrier, a transportation management solution, according to this article in Atlanta Inno. Check sizes range from $400,000 to $2 million, and the firm focuses on five logistics verticals: payment and visibility, yield management, warehousing and fulfillment, shipping and logistics.
