UNC Wilmington launches “All Blue” initiative with goal to be national leader in blue economy

There’s an old saying about capitalizing on your assets and strengths, and that’s exactly what the University of North Carolina Wilmington is doing.

The institution is located on the Atlantic Ocean, so what better than something it is calling the Alliance for the Blue Economy, or “All Blue.” The goal of the partnership, which was first conceived about 18 months ago, is to establish Southeastern North Carolina as a leader in the blue economy. There is clearly an economic development emphasis to attract businesses and entrepreneurs from five different sectors: (1) marine robotics and ocean engineering; (2) sustainable aquacultures and fisheries; (3) marine biotechnology; (4) tourism, recreation and hospitality; and (5) coastal conservation and resilience.

You can learn more about the initiative here.
