Anderson Center accepting applications for two competitions with significant prize money

Applications for two of the Haslam College of Business’ premier opportunities for University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) aspiring student entrepreneurs are now open.

Both programs are administered by the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Haslam College and come as the finale of a third opportunity for student entrepreneurs – the “Vol Court Speaker Series and Pitch Competition” – completes its spring edition later today.

They two additional opportunities are the:

  • “Graves Business Plan Competition” which provides start-up capital for an original business idea. Prizes are awarded for first ($5,000), second ($3,000), and third place ($2,000) in two business categories: growth and lifestyle. It is open to UTK undergraduate and master’s level students. Application deadline is March 14, and the online application can be found here.
  • “Boyd Venture Challenge” which provides up to $30,000 in seed funding to take UTK student-owned businesses to the next level. Another key eligibility criteria is the venture must be majority-owned by students. Applications close April 5.
