AgLaunch issues notice of two upcoming application deadlines

AgLaunchThe team at Memphis-based AgLaunch has issued a notice of two important upcoming application deadlines.

The first deadline is February 10, and it relates to an opportunity during the 2017 Mid-South Farm & Gin Show set for March 3 and 4 at the Memphis Cook Convention Center. AgLaunch is hosting something called “Start-up Station” during the event where more than a dozen start-up companies and university teams will present their innovative ideas for row crop agriculture.

The two-day show features more than 400 companies and 20,000 attendees engaged in farming corn, cotton, rice, sorghum, soy, wheat, and specialty crops. Entrepreneurs and university teams that are selected will present to a panel of investors, growers, agribusiness representatives, and start-up experts who will listen to their pitches, ask questions, provide feedback, and score each team.

Winning teams will receive a cash prize ($1,000 first place, $500 second place). In addition, experts will be holding “office hours” for short one-on-one meetings with teams to offer insight and expertise.

Those interested in pitching an idea or participating in office hours must send a one-page summary of their idea/innovation and/or a draft pitch deck to Brandon Russell, Portfolio Manager at Ag Innovation Development Group, by the February 10 deadline. His email address is brussell@aginnovationgroup.com.

Selected teams will receive more specific pitch deck after February 10.

AgLaunch’s Pete Nelson also reminds our readers that applications to participate in the upcoming “AgLaunch Accelerator” are being accepted until March 1. To apply, click here. The program begins May 2 in Memphis.
