80 Acres Farms lands Cincinnati region’s largest ever investment for one company
If your start-up is in the agriculture sector, this might be music to your ears.
80 Acres Farms, a vertical farming start-up based near Cincinnati, has announced completing a $160 million Series B raise. The amount is the largest capital raise for a single company in the region’s history and more than all the start-ups in the area raised in 2019 combined.
The company proudly claims on its website that it is “totally different. We don’t have tractors, silos, or even soil here. Instead, we grow everything indoors—using robots and AI (artificial intelligence) to do the heavy lifting, while the humans focus on growing the freshest food possible.”
