A report in WilmingtonBiz says there will be investors from Tennessee is the $1.8 million fundraising effort.

WilmingtonBiz reports that Greenville, SC-based VentureSouth is leading a second seed round of $1.8 million for Electronic Lab Logs (ELL), a company that helps reference labs like Quest Diagnostics to standardize their data and documents electronically.

As noted in the article, Co-Founder Daniel Summers was quoted as saying that he expects the round to include about five groups from across the Southeast, including those from Tennessee and South Carolina. The only chapter in Tennessee is in Chattanooga.

We previously reported that VentureSouth celebrated a significant milestone, marking its 10th anniversary with a record of substantial growth and investment in the Southeast’s burgeoning entrepreneurial ecosystem. Founded by a trio of visionary investors, Matt Dunbar, Charlie Banks, and Paul Clark, VentureSouth has evolved from its roots in the Upstate Carolina Angel Network to become a powerhouse in early stage investments, boasting over 550 members and a portfolio that spans across 100 companies.
