West TN Solar Farm ribbon cutting set for April 12

The State of Tennessee, the University of Tennessee and the U. S. Department of Energy are planning a celebration on April 12 when officials cut the ribbon on the new West Tennessee Solar Farm.

The official opening of the five-megawatt facility located in Stanton near Brownsville begins at 3 p.m. CDT. This is a change from the original plan. Officials tout it as the largest solar facility in the state and note that it will play an important role in educating citizens about the benefits of solar energy.

More information on the farm is available at http://solarfarm.tennessee.edu. Those interested in attending the event can register at http://solarfarm.tennessee.edu/rsvp. For additional information, questions or to RSVP via phone, individuals should call 865/974-9559 or e-mail info@solarfarmtn.com.
