Weekend-long Hackeroo starts tomorrow in Nashville

HackerooThere’s a Hackeroo coming to Nashville starting tomorrow. It will be held starting at 9 a.m. tomorrow at EMMA, 9 Lea Avenue, and ending at 7 p.m. Sunday.

This weekend’s event is being held a month in advance of Bonnaroo so that there will be time for the winning team’s project to be integrated into the official Bonnaroo app and marketed to the 100,000 fans in attendance at the festival.

We are told that no hackathon in history has ever offered this type of opportunity. The winning team gets VIP passes for the Bonnaroo festival plus tons of other support from local and national companies to make the winning idea a real application.

So, this weekend’s Hackeroo is for anyone – from those who want to just come eat great food in the amazing start-up environment Emma has provided to those who want to meet new friends, make that app idea that’s been in their heads for so long, or make inroads in the music and startup scene.

And, there are some good prizes in addition to the VIP passes to Bonnaroo and the app integration. They include:

  • $2,500 Cash from Launch Tennessee;
  • Four Pebble watches from Braintree;
  • One year of free hosting from Rackspace; and
  • Incubation by executives and office space from Aloompa.
