Next Venture Match set for March 25 with focus on data analytics and visualization

Venture MatchThe second session in the “2014 East Tennessee Venture Match” series is set for 5 p.m. March 25 with a focus on data analytics and visualization.

Host for the two-hour event is PYA Analytics, LLC, an affiliate of Pershing Yoakley & Associates (PYA), sponsor of teknovation.biz. This month’s “Venture Match” will be held at Cherokee Mills, 2200 Sutherland Avenue, and those attending should enter through the building’s main entrance, not the PYA office entrance.

The March 25 program includes a welcome by Brian Worley, President and Chief Executive Officer of PYA Analytics, and presentations on:

  • “Data Visualization for Decision Support” (David Resseguie);
  • “OpenCore: Helping Businesses Develop, Deploy and Manage Their Big Data Applications” (James Horey);
  • “Data Analytics for Transforming Energy and Utilities” (Femi Omitaomu); and
  • “Beyond von Neumann & Turing: Meeting Tomorrow’s Computational Challenges” (J. Douglas Birdwell).

Sponsor of the overall series is Bass Berry & Sims. The East Tennessee series is organized by Launch Tennessee, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Tech 20/20 and the University of Tennessee Research Foundation.

The remaining final session in the series is focused on advanced manufacturing and is set for 5 to 7 p.m. April 29 at ORNL’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility.
