USDA-focused SBIR workshop set for April 10 in Knoxville

SBIRLaunch Tennessee, in partnership with the University of Tennessee (UT) Center for Industrial Services, is hosting an agricultural-focused Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) workshop April 10 in Knoxville. The three-hour program features Charles Cleland, National SBIR Program Leader for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Cleland helps administer the SBIR program and oversees the portfolio of applied research and development projects supported by the SBIR program with special attention in four areas – forests and related resources, soil and water resources, aquaculture, and small and mid-size farms.

In addition to his presentation, Cleland will be available for one-on-one discussions with participants about potential research projects they may be considering.

The event is set for 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the UT Research Foundation Business Incubator, 2450 E. J. Chapman Drive.
