TTU names Interim VP for Research and Economic Development to succeed Bharat Soni
Harvill Eaton started work today as the Interim Vice President for Research and Economic Development at Tennessee Tech University. He succeeds Bharat Soni who retired effective yesterday.
For Eaton, it’s somewhat of a return home. The Doneslon native earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering science from Tennessee Tech and holds a Ph.D. in materials science from Vanderbilt University. He has an extensive background in higher education, most recently as President of Cumberland University. Eaton served earlier as Vice Chancellor for Research at Louisiana State University.
