“The TENN” just two weeks away

The TENNIt’s two weeks from today – August 27.

The “it” is the inaugural “The TENN,” an all-day celebration of Tennessee’s entrepreneurial activities and the companies that have graduated thus far from the nine regional accelerators.

Set for August 27 at The Bridge in Nashville, the event comes on the heels of individual “Demo Days” held this month by many of the accelerators. It is billed as a “Statewide Demo Day” where the 10 most promising start-ups, hence the name “The TENN,” will be selected.

Those start-ups selected will go through a “master accelerator,” another multi-week boot camp-type experience, and be exposed to Tennessee’s top corporate leaders during a statewide tour the week of September 9.

LaunchTN is coordinating the event with underwriting from the Blackstone Foundation and sponsorship from several corporations.

The schedule for August 27 includes four 50-minute blocks where 20 companies – five per block – will make pitches. In addition, there will be keynote speeches by Robert Galvin, Chief Executive Officer of Equity Healthcare, and John Greathouse, a Partner in Rincon Venture Partners.

The festivities start at 9 a.m. CDT.

The event concludes with announcement of “The TENN,” remarks by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, and a reception.
