Special programming for high school students part of day two of CodeStock conference
About 20 high school students participated in the inaugural CodeStock Academy held Saturday as part of the CodeStock conference.
Joy O’Shell of the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center, one of the co-sponsors, said the students came from rural and inner-city schools as well as children of people attending the CodeStock event.
“This is a pilot program that we can blow-up next year,” the CodeStock board member explained.
Other organizations contributing to the all-day event included:
- Pellissippi State Community College that provided a “Tech Tinkering Lab” for 3D printing;
- Tennessee Code Academy that provided instructors for classes on Scratch and Java; and
- CodeTN that provided the computers.
