Renamed business plan application deadline is April 13

A key deadline is rapidly approaching for those interested in applying for one of the region’s long-standing business plan competitions.

The Fairview Business Plan Competition has been an annual opportunity for local entrepreneurs that included a cash prize, free services and free space for a year in the Fairview Technology Center.

For 2012, the organizers have renamed it with the catchy title, “What’s the Big Idea?” The long-time sponsors – the Development Corporation of Knox County and Tech 20/20 – have been joined by the Knoxville Chamber in hosting the event this year.

For entrepreneurs who have an idea for a new business and need help taking it from concept to market, the competition might be something to consider. However, application deadline for the four-stage competition process is April 13! More information about the competition is available at http://www.knoxvillechamber.com/development/business-plan-competition/. The application form is available at http://www.knoxvillechamber.com/pdf/BigIdeaWhyWhoHowApp.pdf.

REMEMBER: If you don’t meet the deadline, you are not eligible for the competition that features a $10,000 cash prize; free business coaching, accounting and legal services; and free rent for a year in the Fairview Center.
