Marc Portney invests in product of two TIA members

Ahead of next month’s event featuring Marc Portney (see our recent teknovation.biz article), the Venture Capitalist and TV show star has made an announcement regarding a product developed by two members of the Tennessee Inventors Association.

An email yesterday morning read as follows: “I’ve made a deal with Tennessee entrepreneurs Jim Cochran and Stacy Lee Chambers for their revolutionary fishing product HOOKY! Simply, safely and easily thread your fishing hook in seconds! HOOKY is a unique fishing accessory that snaps onto your fishing rod for convenience and allows you to thread your fishing hook in seconds. If you are an avid fisherman or even a novice, you have found the perfect fishing accessories to make your fishing trips much more enjoyable. Stay tuned for more information on how to purchase a HOOKY for the fishermen in your life.”

The Knoxville event will feature a fireside chat and 20 local inventors pitching their ideas. It begins at 5:30 p.m. May 2 at Pellissippi State Community College’s Hardin Valley campus. Click here to register.
