Knoxville’s Savage Security acquired by Threatcare
Roughly a year after its founding, Knoxville start-up Savage Security has been acquired by Austin-based Threatcare.
The Texas firm is described in this news release as the leader in proactive cyber defense, while Savage Security focuses on cybersecurity services and applied research.
“Threatcare gains the ability to provide services alongside Violet, the cybersecurity industry’s first virtual assistant, while Savage Security’s founders will continue their services work with the benefit of larger staff and funding,” according to the announcement. “Savage Security will shift to Threatcare’s branding while continuing to provide the innovative and disruptive research and services it is known for.”
The Knoxville based start-up was founded by Adrian Sanabria and Kyle Bubp, now the Director of Strategic Services for Threatcare. In a recent email to Jim Biggs, Executive Director of the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center, Bubp recalled a meeting in November 2016.
“I met with you to discuss our idea for a security research and consulting group, and you gave me excellent feedback,” Bubp said.
