Grow Bioplastics’ first round competition this morning

Tony Bova of Grow Bioplastics is set to present the company beginning at 9:55 a.m. CDT today in the first round of the Rice Business Plan Competition. He’ll have 15 minutes to pitch the start-up and 20 minutes of questioning from the judges. Grow Bioplastics is one of 42 teams competing in the prestigious event for graduate student-founded companies. It is billed as “the world’s richest and largest student start-up competition.”

The competition involves three technology verticals with six teams competing with similar companies in seven. Two of the tracks are energy and cleantech where Grow Bioplastics is positioned. There are two tracks for IT, web and mobile start-ups and three for participants in science and biotech.
