GRIDSMART, City of Knoxville start deployment of new traffic management system
GRIDSMART Technologies Inc., a company founded 10 years ago in Knoxville, and the City of Knoxville announced yesterday installation of the first traffic management equipment for a proposed test bed designed to study and reduce traffic congestion between West Town Mall and Bearden Hill.
GRIDSMART, founded by Bill Malkes and Vig Sherrill, was initially known as Aldis, and has been the subject of a number of articles on teknovation.biz. The new Knoxville installation marks the first deployment of the company’s new STREETSMART Wi-Fi traffic collection devices.
