Fiveworx competitor reportedly files for IPO

FiveworxOPower, a seven-year old start-up that could be considered a competitor in some respects to Knoxville-based Fiveworx, is reportedly preparing for its long-anticipated Initial Public Offering (IPO). At least, that’s what The Wall Street Journal is reporting. Fiveworx has been the subject of a number of articles on teknovation.biz and recently was the only company from Tennessee to participate in the “Cleantech Open” competition. Its approach is to work with utilities to tailor a specific message to consumers that will encourage the latter to take at least five actions to reduce energy usage. The approach is based on years of research done by The Shelton Group. For more information on Fiveworx, enter either the company name or the name of its Chief Executive Officer (Patrick Hunt) in the search feature for teknovation.biz.

Meanwhile, we’ll watch with interest to see how the OPower IPO goes.
