DOE hosting regional summit on clean energy next month in Atlanta

DOE-teknoThe U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is holding a one-day “Southeast Regional Summit” for its Clean Energy Manufacturing Initiative July 9 at the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Conference Center.

The event will feature David Danielson, Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, who was just in Knoxville last week for the signing ceremony that officially launched the new  “Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation” (IACMI).

The event, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., includes several panel discussions and about a half-dozen breakout sessions.

Panels are scheduled on:

  • “Sparking U.S. Clean Energy Manufacturing for an Advanced Clean Energy Economy. ” This session will provide private sector perspectives on the Southeast’s strengths in and priorities for clean energy manufacturing technology innovation.
  • “Enhancing U.S. Competitiveness: Advanced Manufacturing for the 21st Century.” It will provide private sector perspectives on how companies are leveraging advanced manufacturing to boost their bottom lines and grow the economy.
  • “Grow Your Business: Federal and Local Tools for U.S. Manufacturing Competitiveness.” Attende3es will have a chance to hear from and interact with representatives from multiple federal agencies that are providing resources for manufacturers in the region.
