Crunchbase, PitchBook report on Q2 global, U.S. venture capital activity respectively
Based on projections from Crunchbase, Crunchbase News reports that global venture capital activity has once again set post-dot Com records. Specifically, deal and dollar volume blew past last quarter’s highs. You can read more here. Separately, but also on topic, PitchBook reports that the $57.5 billion of venture capital invested in US companies through Q2 2018 is higher than six of the past 10 full-year totals and puts the year on pace to surpass $100 billion in deal value for the first time since the dot-com era.
