The team behind CodeStock, Knoxville’s annual two-day technology and information exchange, has announced its call for speakers for the 2018 conference.
According to a recent announcement, the planners are accepting abstracts for sessions for the upcoming event set for April 20 and 21. Deadline for submission is December 31. The abstracts can be either one or two hours long and focus on several tech-related topics – development, DevOps, IT Professional, design, and entrepreneurship.
Those interested in submitting should:
- Log into the CodeStock portal at https://portal.codestock.org. (NOTE: Usernames and passwords for those who submitted in 2017 are still valid. All others will need to set-up a new account.)
- Enter a catchy title and abstract description into the system. The descriptions should effectively convey the value of the talk since it will be critical to your session’s acceptance by the community vote. Submissions from last year are still available.
- Ensure your profile is completely filled-out and current for acceptance notification.
- Prepare a brief marketing plan for the abstract so you will be prepared to promote it if selected. CodeStock has 100 slots open for sessions during the 2018 conference, and the decision on which topics get those slots is determined by voting by the CodeStock audience.
The planning team also encourages individuals to read the speaker FAQ thoroughly. “We want to make sure to communicate expectations early, so we have put this together now to answer any questions you have about submission process, selection process, and just some general inquiries we get every year,” the team says in its recent email. Those with questions can submit them via email to email@example.com or twitter at @codestock.
