Applications due November 9 for next “Boyd Venture Fund” competition

The Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) is soliciting applications from student-owned companies that want to participate in the next “Boyd Venture Fund” competition.

Deadline for applying is Friday, November 9. Those businesses invited to “pitch” to the grant-award committee will be notified by Monday, November 12 with presentations to the awards committee scheduled for Friday, November 16.

The seed-funding opportunity is made possible through the generosity of UT alumnus Randy Boyd and administered by ACEI. This opportunity is available to all students, in all programs (doctoral, masters, or undergraduate) at UTK. The only other stipulation is that applicants must have a legally established business.

Over the last three semesters, the fund has awarded $42,000 to six student-owned companies helping them move forward as value creators in the region.

More information is available at http://www.andersoncei.utk.edu/2012/10/16/boyd-venture-fund-applications-due-119/ or by emailing Tom Graves at tgrave10@utk.edu.
