Jason Hubbard leaves Cirrusinsight, launches YourGrowthExpert
By Tom Ballard, Chief Alliance Officer, PYA
One of the earliest employees of now five-year old Cirrusinsight has launched his own consulting company named YourGrowthExpert.
For Boone, NC native Jason Hubbard, it’s at least the sixth start-up that he has founded, and that number does not count his role in helping accelerate growth at Cirruspath where he was Vice President of Marketing for about four and one-half years before starting the new business at the end of 2016.
“The growth stuff . . . building things . . . that’s what I’m good at and like,” he says. “I saw an opportunity to take what I had done for the last four and a half years and take it to B2B SaaS companies.” The references are to software as a service (SaaS) companies selling to other businesses (B2B).
Hubbard explains that much of his focus at Cirruspath was building the operational processes that helped fuel the company’s growth.
“I built most of our processes for marketing, account executives and sales representatives,” he says. “As such, I spent much of my time focused on growth.”
That great progress earned Cirruspath recognition last year as number 41 on Inc. 500’s list of the fastest growing privately-held companies. That is great recognition, not only for the company, but for the Knoxville-Oak Ridge region. As noted in this teknovation.biz article, many of the staff who have been added to support Cirruspath’s growth came as the result of a special relationship the bi-coastal company has with Maryville College.
Hubbard selected the name of his new consulting firm to quickly reflect what its focus is.
“We are a marketing and growth consulting company providing a full suite of services that enables clients to understand and optimize their entire funnel,” he declares on the start-up’s webpage.
The services include funnel mapping and analysis, process and workflow optimization, sales and marketing tech advising and implementation, website design and optimization, digital email marketing services, social marketing, content marketing, copywriting, design, and video production.
“I can go in and see what needs to be done to enable greater growth,” Hubbard says. “We deliver a review along with a roadmap and a list of priorities. The inefficiencies have to be taken care of so the highest priorities can get the attention.”
If the client wants Hubbard to help implement the recommendations, he has a team of subcontractors he can draw on for the work.
“We want to help our clients punch above their weight,” Hubbard adds. “If you have someone who knows what they are doing and how to use technology, one person can do a lot.”
In its first three months, YourGrowthExpert has already booked $150,000 of revenue. Ironically, many of those clients are in California, but Hubbard notes that much of the work his new enterprise does is not place dependent.
“I don’t ever see it being a large company,” he says. “I want us to have a small team that can do what we are good at doing.”
