Dates announced for second annual “Innov865 Week”
More than 1,400 people participated in the first “Innov865 Week” that featured 25 different activities. Plans for 2017 include another mix of big events like the fifth annual “Start-up Day” on September 21 and a series of micro events like those held this year.
“After the incredible response to this year’s celebration, the Innov865 Alliance is excited about enhancing 2017 programming and events to provide even more support to our entrepreneurial community,” said Jim Biggs, Executive Director, Knoxville Entrepreneur Center (KEC). KEC is a founding member of the Innov865 Alliance along with the University of Tennessee Research Foundation, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, UT’s Anderson for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, PYA and Launch Tennessee.
In addition, the Innov865 Alliance announced plans to host a roughly every other month happy hour like the one held Wednesday night as a way to maintain the excitement, enthusiasm and momentum generated by the inaugural week-long celebration.
The next happy hour will be held the week of February 6 in conjunction with Launch Tennessee’s annual “The TENN Road Show.”
Yesterday’s “Innov865 Happy Hour” featured a conversation with Andrew Goldner, Managing Partner, and Brad Holliday, Partner, both with GrowthX, a firm featured in this recent teknovation.biz post. Goldner recently relocated to Nashville to be closer to the vibrant start-up scene in the South. He and Partner Brad Holliday spent Wednesday in Knoxville learning more about the local ecosystem.
