Innovasan’s Hubrig shares thoughts on recent NYC visit as part of “The TENN”
The third edition of Launch Tennessee’s “The TENN” master accelerator program is nearing the end with the finale set for April 21 in Nashville. Two of the highlights of the annual event are visits with venture capitalists and other entrepreneurs in California and New York City.
Knoxville-based Innovasan is one of the participants in this year’s “The TENN,” and Jeff Hubrig, Jr., the company’s Director of Business Development, shared his observations about the recent visit in New York with us.
“Our goal for the New York trip was to produce successful outcomes from our investor meetings and establish new relationships with people in healthcare technology from the NYC/New England area. We succeeded on both fronts by successfully bringing more potential investors aboard to follow our major milestone progress this month as we prepare for a raise in the late spring and by meeting many entrepreneurs and other professionals involved in healthcare technology.
“We were one of five companies selected out of 50+ to pitch at Manhattan-based District CoWork’s HealthTech pitch night, and we won the innovation award. The judge panel included venture capitalists, start-up accelerator executives and investment bankers. Pitches were five minutes with five minutes of Q&A from the judges and three minutes from the audience. The event was well run with a standing room only sized turnout of Healthcare professionals and entrepreneurs. Anyone visiting Manhattan should take the opportunity to stop by District’s space.
“LaunchTN also hosted a great (as always) 36|86 networking event at Loft227 in Manhattan. The five current ‘The TENN’ accelerator companies that made the trip to NYC gave brief two-minute pitches followed by an evening of good company and southern food. The event was packed with a diverse crowd of entrepreneurs, investors and professionals from different industries.”
