Hubrig says last week’s Atlanta pitch events were very valuable

INNOVASAN-logoJeff Hubrig, Jr. said last week was very valuable for Innovasan when the Knoxville-based start-up participated in two pitch events in Atlanta.

“Overall, Innovasan had a great experience in Atlanta and with the Cleantech Open in general,” the company’s Director of Business Development said. “We’re excited to be part of the family, and we have made many friends in the process. We all bring connections and skills to the table that are mutually beneficial, and we’re excited to see what we can make happen with the nationwide contacts and connections we have established.”

SmartCharge Light of Charlotte, NC, won the regional competition. Hubrig described the company’s light bulb with a built-in rechargeable battery and proprietary switch¬†as a major innovation for developing countries in particular where there are daily brownouts and blackouts in the evenings.

The second pitch event for Innovasan was Piranha Tank, a opportunity that he had previously described as very similar to Shark Tank.

“Despite not closing a deal on stage, we received extremely valuable and candid feedback, generated a great deal of interest, and built more relationships with the team at Piranha Branding,”¬†Hubrig said.

Innovasan was one of four companies selected from about two dozen applicants for the Piranha Tank opportunity. Sourcify, an Atlanta based software as a service company developing an environmental social financial governance data software tool, received an offer of $150,000 to go towards its current $500,000 round.
