Doug McDanielHere’s a new way to raise money for your start-up.

Doug McDaniel, a Knoxville filmmaker and entrepreneur, is holding an intriguing half-day workshop on May 14 at Scruffy City Hall on Market Square. The title is “How to fund your Start-up with Airbnb.” In essence, it’s all about how to make money with your extra space.

The announcement says McDaniel and his wife have made $70,000 in the past two years, thanks to Airbnb, while also working full-time. They’ve been able to use the extra money to fund their start-up named Farm Spotter. Some of our readers may recall the company won this year’s edition of “What’s the Big Idea.” To learn more about the workshop and access a registration link, read the news release (HowtoFundYourStartupwithAirbnb).
